Job description
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced accountant to join our bakery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the bakery, including maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and managing budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the bakery, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare financial reports, including monthly and annual financial statements, cash flow statements, and budget-to-actual reports.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the bakery has sufficient funds to meet its obligations.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and manage budgets and forecast future financial performance.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
- Manage the payroll process, including payroll tax withholding, employee benefits, and compensation.
- Reconcile bank statements and perform other account reconciliations.
- Manage and maintain the bakery's financial records, including electronic and paper-based records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or HND degree in accounting
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- ICAN certification preferred, but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: ₦200,000.00 per month
