We are now inviting applications for the position of Spouse Programme Project Manager. The position is located in the HR and Executive Services team. This is a fixed-term position starting August 1, 2023 or as agreed and ending December 31, 2025.

The Vaasa Spouse Programme was launched in October 2022 as part of the University of Vaasa Talent Boost framework. The main aim of the Spouse Programme is to support the integration of accompanying spouses and families of the international employees and students in companies and education institutions in the Vaasa region. The programme aims to provide the participants with both social and professional networks, and strengthen the career prospects of the participating spouses.

Your role

As the Spouse Programme Project Manager, you will act as the main coordinator of the spouse programme activities, further strengthening the Vaasa Spouse Programme concept.

An important part of your work is to connect with the companies and employer organisations in the Vaasa region. You will work in close cooperation with the regional and national cooperation network, as well as the International HR team and the Talent Boost actors within the University of Vaasa.

As the Spouse Programme Project Manager you will also be responsible for planning, launching and organizing a Career Club for highly skilled immigrants. The Career Club will support the participants in gaining relevant work-life skills, knowledge of the regional work market as well as professional networks.

Your tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Developing the Career Club concept for the Vaasa region
  • Planning and organizing the Career Club activities
  • Regular follow-up of the impact of the programme
  • Coordinating and reporting to the Vaasa Spouse Programme steering group
  • Developing the Vaasa Spouse Programme regular activities
  • Arranging social and professional activities for the spouse community
  • Maintaining close contact to the Vaasa Spouse Programme collaborators
  • Identifying new partners and services to be included in the programme
  • Actively promoting and marketing the Vaasa Spouse Programme in the Vaasa region
  • Coordinating the work of the Spouse Programme Trainee

In this position you will have a meaningful role in further developing the Vaasa Spouse Programme, which contributes significantly in retaining the international talent community within the Vaasa region. You will be part of a dedicated expert network working with a committed and enthusiastic spouse community.

  • Project management experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent written and oral English. Finnish and/or Swedish skills will be considered an asset.
  • Digital fluency and strong knowledge of the most common ICT tools in a hybrid working environment.
  • Applicable higher education degree

Knowledge of higher education institutions and an existing contact network with employers is considered a strong asset.

Salary

The salary will be based on the Finnish University Salary System for expert and support staff. The monthly salary is based on job demand level 8-9 (2640 €- 3044 €/month). An additional personal salary component is paid based on work performance.
